| An ATM machine is Know as an Automated Teller Machine. It is a special machine that lets you do banking without going in the bank. It looks like a small computer with buttons. When you need cash you can use it to draw money, that you have in there, out of your account. You use a special card, called a debit card, and insert it into the slot on the machine. After punching in your special password the machine will spit out the money you have asked for. You can also use an ATM to deposit money. You can use the machine to check your balance and it will show the amount on the screen. The secret code you must punch in to use the machine is called a PIN. When using an ATM ask a grownup to help you to make sure it is safe. ATM are a great service because they let us access our money even when the bank is closed. |
